Usage: ControlFile
JOINDB reads a comma delimited text file (containing a fixed count
of fields per line) and writes out a comma delimited text file with
additional fields added to the end of each line. The added fields
are looked up in a database file. The input file must contain a field
which matches an indexed field in the database. This key field is used
lookup the database record. The control file described below is used
to communicate information about how to join the data.
Where: ControlFile is the name of a text file containing the
following lines:
INFILE=name of the input file
OUTFILE=name of the output file
ERRFILE=name of the errors file (Default: JOINDB.ERR)
INFLDS=number of fields in the input file
INKEY=field number of the key field in the input file
INKEY=field number of the key ... repeat as needed (MAX=10)
SKIP=Controls whether joins not found are skipped in output file
DDDFILENM=name of the DDD file for the database to be joined
DATFILENM=data file name of the database to be joined
IDXFILENM=index file name of the database to be joined
KEYLEN=length of the index key field
KEYTYPE=type (A,I,S,D, etc.) of the index key field
OUTFLDS=number of database fields to add to the output file
OUTFLDNM=database field to add
OUTFLDNM=database field to add ... repeat as needed
